Common questions
Automatic saving is not saving anything.
Open the Settings app, find Tracker, and check that Location is set to Always and that Motion & Fitness is on. “While Using” is not enough. Tracker also waits a few minutes between detections, so it will not save twice in a row.
Why does it need my location set to Always?
Automatic saving works while the app is closed, which requires Always access. Tracker uses low-power significant-change monitoring, not continuous GPS, and keeps no history of where you have been. If you would rather not grant it, leave automatic saving off and save the spot yourself.
Does automatic saving drain the battery?
No. Tracker uses significant-change location monitoring and the motion activity iOS already tracks. It does not poll your position.
Tracker saved a spot when I had not parked.
Tap “That wasn’t parking” on the notification to discard it. Getting out of a taxi or a bus can look like parking.
The pin is a few metres from where the car actually is.
GPS is less accurate in multi-storey car parks, underground garages and between tall buildings. Add the level, a note and a photo — over the last few metres those are what find the car.
How do I record which floor I parked on?
Open the spot and tap the details row, or tap “Add details” on the notification that appears after saving. There are fields for the level and a note, and you can attach a photo.
My parking meter reminders did not arrive.
Check that notifications are allowed for Tracker in the Settings app, and that a Focus mode is not silencing them.
The widget is showing old information.
iOS decides when to refresh widgets and can be several minutes behind. Opening the app always shows the current state.
Does it work with no signal, or underground?
The distance and the compass arrow are calculated on the device and work with no connection. The map, the street name and directions need a signal.
Is my parking location sent anywhere?
No. It stays on your iPhone. The map, the street name and directions come from Apple Maps, so Apple receives those coordinates. See the privacy page.
How do I delete everything Tracker has stored?
Tap “I found my car” to clear the spot along with its note and photo. Deleting the app removes everything.
Which iPhones does it work on?
iOS 18 or later. iPhone only — there is no iPad or Mac version.
My saved spot is gone after updating.
Version 2.0 carries over the spot saved by earlier versions on first launch. If it did not, email support@gunes.ee and say which version you upgraded from.
